Shepard High School students named South Suburban Conference Scholar Athletes for competing in a sport and with a weighted grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
Shepard High School recently hosted its honors ceremony to recognize the student-athletes selected by coaches for awards.
Among the award recipients are Kahlen Ranson for Outstanding Female Athlete of the Year in bowling; Aiden Breslin for Outstanding Male Athlete of the Year in soccer; Riley Massey for Outstanding All Around Female Athlete of the Yearin cheer; and Payton Crims for Outstanding All Around Male Athlete of the Year in basketball.
John DiFoggio, Brenden Grieshaber, Riley Massey, and Kylan Rogers also won the Iron Astro Award, which recognizes Shepard students who “have participated in 3 sports each year throughout their high school career.”
Lazaro Vigil won the William Gutches Memorial Award which recognizes “a senior athlete who demonstrates exemplary character, leadership, community involvement, scholarship and school pride.”
