Evergreen Park Village Happenings

Recycle Damaged Holiday String Lights
From now until January 15, the Village of Evergreen Park offers 2 locations to drop-off damaged, unusable Christmas lights this year. Drop them off at the Evergreen Park Village Hall, 9418 S. Kedzie, or the EP Community Center, 3450 W. 97th St., from now until January 15.

Broken string lights are one of the most common holiday waste items. If you have broken lights, don’t deposit them in your recycling bin because they can get wrapped around and damage recycling equipment.

Keep the Wreath Red Campaign
The Evergreen Park Fire Department has kicked off it’s annual campaign. A wreath with red lights is hanging on the front of the fire station, at 9000 S. Kedzie Ave. In the event of a fire involving Christmas decorations, a red bulb will be replaced with a white one. The EP Fire Department would like to remind folks to please practice fire safety during the holiday season.
